My art brings heritage and culture to the forefront of storytelling. I'm the fourth generation of my family born and raised in Portsmouth, NH. I moved to Aspen, CO over 21 years ago to raise my family in the Rocky Mountains. I have considered Aspen home for over 21 years now. As a global ambassador and entrepreneur, I connect with women in markets around the world. When we share our wisdom and connect from an authentic space, we realize that we're all one. I believe to truly be seen and heard is the ultimate compliment to one another.
Like my life, my work is deeply layered with intentional little stories within the big picture. I often add acrylic, watercolor, chalk, pastel or wax to my paintings. I also infuse little pieces of raw nature and little artifacts of raw materials where I can. A feather, a rock, shells, stick, leather, twine, or semi-precious stone. I collect these from my travels. This adds richness and dimension to the overall aesthetic.
I hope that you can connect the stories and teachings that cross generations when you observe my work. I come from a very unique heritage that goes four generations back in a small New England town. My Native American, Irish, and Ethiopian bloodline evokes inspiration, conversation and engagement. Each piece is born of a unique concept and expressed by hand on the canvas. There is a ripe story behind the conceptualization of every piece.
